REGULATIONS of the World Cup 2016 in draughts-64

Regulations World Cup 2016

1. Goals and objectives

1.1. Competitions are held for the purpose of draughts-64 in the world.

1.2. The objectives of the World Cup are:
– Improving Sports Mastery;
– Performance of norms of international titles;
– Identification of best players;
– The selection for the official competitions in 2017;
– Strengthening the friendly relations between the draughts players from different countries.

2. Competition organizers

2.1. Overall management of the organization of competitions carried out by:

– International Draughts Federation (IDF) – next International Draughts Federation.
– The organizers of each Stage of the World Cup.

2.2. Direct holding of competitions shall the main judiciary board approved by the Board of International Draughts Federation.

3. Place and date of

The World Cup is held in seven stages:

4. Participants

All duly registered sportsmen’s, regardless of gender, age and rating can participate in the competition. The number of participants representing the country is not limited.

5. Requirements for participants

5.1. Participants must comply with the Rules of the game and competitions in draughts-64.

5.2. Participants must be present at the opening and closing ceremonies of the competition in compliance with the dress code. In the absence of the closing ceremony, participants are deprived of official awards.

6. System of competitions

6.1. Competitions are personal.

6.2. Competitions are held in accordance with the Official Rules of the game and competitions in draughts-64.

6.3. The system of holding and time control at every stage is set of the panel of referees.

6.4. Norms of international titles are set in competitions.

7.  Determination of winners

7.1. Places in the competition at the each stage and in each program are determined by the highest total of points scored by the participants. For the victory is given – 2 points, for a draw – 1 point and for loss – 0.

7.2. In the case when the points from two or more participants are equal places of participants are determined according to the criteria of the corresponding system of the competition.

8. Summary of the World Cup.

In the World Cup 2016 separately summing in two categories is held:

8.1. World Cup (classic and rapid program)
8.2. World Cup Blitz

8.3. In each category winners among men, women and juniors born in 1997 and under are determined.

8.4. At each stage of the World Cup participants receive points according taken places:

8.5. At the final stage (final of World Cup) coefficient of 1.2 for of Scoring is introduced.

8.6. In the overall World Cup standings are summarized four of the best results shown in stages and half of the result (points) shown in
the fifth stage.

8.7. In case of a tie among two or more participants, place of participants in the overall standings of World Cup are determined by the highest place in the classical program of one from the stages in which they participated. In the World Cup Blitz – on the highest place in one of the stages. In case of equality – by the highest place in another stage, etc.

9. Awarding

9.1. World Cup (Classic and rapid)

9.1.1. World Cup winner is awarded the title of «Winner of the World Cup 2016 in draughts-64″.
He is awarded the trophy, medal and diploma. Participants, who took second and third places, are awarded with medals and diplomas.

9.1.2. The winner in the World Cup among women is awarded the title of «Winner of the World Cup 2016 in draughts-64 among women». She is awarded the trophy, medal and diploma. Participants, who took second and third place among women, are awarded with medals and diplomas.

9.1.3. The winner in the World Cup among juniors 1997 year born and younger is awarded the title of «Winner of the World Cup 2016 in draughts-64 among juniors 1996 and younger». He is awarded the trophy, medal and diploma. Participants, who took second and third place among juniors 1997 and younger, are awarded with medals and diplomas.

9.2. World Cup Blitz

9.2.1. World Cup winner in World Cup Blitz is awarded the title of «Winner of the World Cup Blitz 2016 in draughts-64″. He is awarded the trophy, medal and diploma. Participants, who took second and third places, are awarded with medals and diplomas.

9.2.2. The winner among women is awarded the title of «Winner of the World Cup Blitz 2016 in draughts-64 among women». She is awarded the trophy, medal and diploma. Participants, who took second and third place, are awarded with medals and diplomas.

9.2.3. The winner among juniors 1997 year born and younger is awarded the title of «Winner of the World Cup Blitz 2016 in draughts-64 among juniors 1997 and younger». He is awarded the trophy, medal and diploma. Participants, who took second and third place, are awarded with medals and diplomas.

9.3. Prize-winner in the overall standings of the World Cup 2016, in the World Cup for women and for juniors may be recognized player who participated in at least 3 stages in the classic program, for World Cup Blitz – at least 4 x stages.

9.4. Prize fund in overall standing of World Cup is € 3,650:

9.4.1. World Cup (classic and rapid program)
1st place – 1 000 EUR
2nd place – 600 EUR
3rd place – 450 EUR
4th place – 300 EUR
5th place – 250 EUR
6th place – 200 EUR

Juniors born 1997 and younger
1st place – 150 EUR

Woman
1st place – 150 EUR

Best Veterans 60 +   – 100 EUR (who participated at least of 2 stages in the classic program)

9.4.2. World Cup Blitz

1st place  – 200 EUR
2nd place – 150 EUR
3rd place  – 100 EUR

9.5. The winner of the World Cup  2016 received the title of “Grandmaster”.

9.6. Prize-winners of the World Cup 2016 are allowed to participate in the World Championship 2017.

9.7. The winner of the World Cup 2016 will be provided by the organizers of World Championship 2017 with accommodation and meals.

9.8. Participants who took 2nd and 3rd places in World Cup 2016 will participate in the World Championship 2017 without tournament fee.

9.9. Prize-winners of the World Cup Blitz 2016 will participate in the World Blitz Championship 2017 without tournament fee.

10. Finances

10.1. Costs at each stage:

– for the competition; rental of gaming halls, production of attributes, information and advertising materials; the award (prize money,
trophies, medals, diplomas); payment of work of panel of referees and staff; travel costs; computer software – at the expenses of the immediate conducting organizations;

– Admission (accommodation, meals, travel expenses) not less than 6 foreign participants or invited participants with high ratings – at the expenses of the immediate conducting organizations;

– The costs of all other participants (accommodation, meals, travel expenses, visas, etc.) – at the expenses of the sending organizations or the participants themselves;

10.2. The costs of the awarding in the Overall World Cup (Cups, medals, diplomas, prize money) – at the expenses of International Draughts Federation.
